My only problem with this however was that with this money I could not purchase a laptop with similar specs b/c when I bought my laptop, I received a $300 price match. Instead they wanted to give me the $1199 that I originally paid for the laptop. When came to the store I requested that I receive the same model laptop but being a 2yr old laptop, they were unable to get the same laptop. Finally, in about the 7th week I received a call that my product would be “junked out” and that I should come to the store to work out that process. Within that period best buy’s tracking of my products progress stopped working and I was give the error message: “please enter a valid service number” when attempting to track my product. This time however instead of 2 weeks to be repaired, it took 8 weeks.

By this time it had been about 4 weeks of total repairs and I immediately turned it back it to be serviced again. Both of these worked perfectly fine before I had sent my product in so something the repair center did broke the keyboard and trackpad.

When the geek squad agent asked me to test out the product to see if it was functioning properly, we found that the keyboard was no longer working and the trackpad was unresponsive. I am called in again to pick up my laptop but now there is another issue. Two more weeks pass and it is now around the beginning of September. Having spent a great deal of money on the laptop I ask them to please repair the scratches and recenter the screen. When I go to pick up however, the hinge was fixed but there were multiple large scratches on the aluminum shell that weren’t there before and the lcd screen seemed to be off center within the casing.

Two weeks goes by and they call me into my local store to pick up my product. Fast forward to the summer of 2018 I notice the left hinge on my laptop is becoming very loose so I take it in to geek squad around the beginning of August and explain that I would like the hinge fixed if possible. I bought a HP spectre in 2016 for $1199 (with a $300 price match deduction) and purchased a two year geek squad protection plan. Just wanted to see if anyone has any advice about dealing with geek squad.
